Advanced Eye Examination
As part of your wellbeing and self-care, give your eyes the very best care you can. Since Covid-19, we have seen an increase in dry eye disease, short-sightedness, and digital eye strain. In addition, we have been seeing many patients who have had long delays in their hospital eye appointments/screening.
Our advanced eye examinations are suitable for all patients over 40 or those with clinical risk factors. The highest level of patient care and clinical assessment include:
- 60-minute appointment.
- Covid safe setting & PPE worn by professional staff.
- Experienced practitioners.
- Rexxam Auto-Refraction (Japan) provides a quick and accurate measurement of your spectacle prescription.
- Optomap (California) allows a widefield retinal scanning with social distancing.
- Topcon Tomography (Japan), like ultrasound but uses light to slice though the retina and provides non-invasive deep tissue analysis.
- Slit lamp microscopy (Japan) is used to carry out an initial tear film assessment.
- A paper or digital copy of your prescription will be issued
- Advice on lifestyle, diet and how to look after your eyes will be given.
- Best lens recommendations by your optometrist.
- Referral to your GP, NHS or private hospital if required.
The advanced eye examination is provided as part of our Gold Plan membership. For patient not subscribed to our care plan, the current pay-as-you-go professional fee of £89 will be charged.
